Caring for Your All-On-4 Implants

 In All-On-4 Implants

If you have made the life changing decision to undergo our All-On-4® treatment, or it is something you are considering, it’s important to understand what occurs in the days following the initial procedure and how you will care for your implants to ensure your investment lasts your lifetime.

Along with routine appointments to see Dr Golestani and our Hygienist, Cleaning is crucial to long-term success and here at Dental 359 we work side-by-side with our patients to ensure they are provided with the knowledge and tools to care for their new smile.

All-On-4® Implant Aftercare

The initial days post-procedure

The initial days following your procedure it is important to follow the written post-operative instructions provided by Dr Golestani as these will include your oral hygiene instructions for the first week and general advice following a surgical procedure.

Once you have received your final prosthesis (2-3 days after your procedure) and are ready to show the world your new smile, it is not goodbye from the team at Dental 359.

The month after your procedure

You will now see Dr Golestani and our Hygienist weekly for the next month while you heal so a close eye can be kept on your healing and recovery. During these appointments you will be provided with tools and instructions, along with demonstrations, on how to care for your new teeth at home.

It is important to clean your new teeth twice a day using a variation of tooth and implant brushes, special floss and a Waterpik, as demonstrated by Dr Golestani and our Hygienist.

Pay close attention to the surfaces where the gums and implant meet. If this area is kept free from plaque, you have every chance of keeping your implants for life.
As with natural healthy teeth, it is also important to maintain your regular dental check-ups and professional cleans. These appointments are scheduled generally every six months.

Dr Golestani and our Hygienist can advise what cleaning devices and techniques best suit you and the particular type of dental implant you have in place. Take good care of your implants and treat them just as well as you would treat your natural teeth.
