 In Team Profile

Rebecca is our Senior Hygienist at Dental 359. Bec has been working in our practice since June 2020 and has displayed incredible professionalism and care towards all our patients.  We think everyone that has experienced a hygiene visit would agree that she is gentle and caring and, above all, very thorough in her approach to your dental hygiene.  Working closely with Dr Hooman Golestani, Bec strives for excellence at all times and is passionate about helping you achieve your dental hygiene goals.

As Bec practices in quiet confidence, we thought it was about time to asked her to share a bit of her story with us.

What’s the most exciting part of your job?

My role at Dental 359 is very exciting especially as the senior hygienist I get to be a part of everyone’s journey and see the amazing transformations. I find it very exciting when I see positive changes in attitude towards oral health, changing mindsets and helping those with dental phobia achieve excellent oral health.

Who inspires you?

Turia Pitt’s Resilience and strength inspires me every day.

Turia is a burns survivor. She went through hundreds of surgeries, was put in a coma, lost her hands and her nose and had too little unburnt skin for grafts. After her long recovery she is now a motivational speaker, published author and continues her career in Engineering. This is so inspiring as she refuses to allow her injuries to limit the life she wants and advocates her message to never give up especially to young women. This is truly amazing.

What would we most likely find you doing in your spare time?

In my spare time I like to go to the gym. Exercise always makes me feel happy and healthy. When I’m not at the gym I like to walk around Lake Monger. On weekends and when the weather is nice, I like going on nature walks or walks along the beach, which of course is always followed by a good coffee.

I spend most of my time outside of work with my sister Meg. We love going to restaurants nearby and enjoy good food and drinks. Our favourite food is sushi and all things Mexican.

What motivates you at work?

The atmosphere here at Dental 359 is like no other practice I have ever worked before. Everyone here is so happy and cheery it makes coming to work very easy. Also the level excellence that we strive for makes me feel very proud of what I do and motivates me to always go above and beyond to ensure all patients receive the most top level of care.

Dental Hygiene

Working in the dental industry as a Dental Nurse influenced my love for dental hygiene. After two years as a nurse I realised that I wasn’t getting enough satisfaction from my role and I needed more. I enjoyed the hands on nature of nursing, however I wanted to be more involved with patients and help make a change. I had to move interstate to further my studies and looking back now I am so happy I did. Becoming a dental hygienist is one of the best things I have ever done. I enjoy watching my patients make such positive changes to their oral health and overall health. Now working at Dental 359 especially alongside Dr. Golestani, I enjoy my job so much more. Providing dental treatment at such a high level, with dedication to detail and excellence while building strong rapport with my patients is extremely rewarding.
