Transform Your Smile with Digital Design Dentistry

In CEREC 3D, Dental 359 Blog, Smile Makeover

Digital dentistry refers to the use of dental technologies or devices that incorporates digital or computer-controlled components to carry out dental procedures, rather than using mechanical or electrical tools.

Technological advances are a reality of our everyday life and dentistry is no exception. The right technology will create efficiencies for the dental practitioner and comfort for the patient. This is why technology is so important to Dr Golestani and the team at Dental 359.

What is Digital Design Dentistry?

At Dental 359, we have a variety of diagnostic and treatment techniques which require the use of computer-controlled technology.

Digital Radiography

Dental radiographs are an essential part of diagnosis, documentation and treatment planning at Dental 359. Digital radiography allows clinicians and patients to instantly view images on a computer or TV screen at a high resolution. Digital files can be easily shared with referral partners and because they are stored on a hard drive, they are easier to manage and find.

Intra-oral cameras

Intraoral cameras are small, pen-shaped devices that capture digital images of our patient’s teeth and gums. This gives our Dentists and Hygienist a better view of your mouth with angles that can be difficult to see with the naked eye.

Intra-oral cameras are powerful tools to effectively find out teeth problems hidden even in the most troublesome areas of the mouth.

Intra-oral camera CEREC

An intraoral camera does not cause any pain or discomfort to the patient and has no side effects. It captures clear video and images of the corroded or tarnished fillings, hairline fractures, bleeding gums and plaque while the patient is comfortably seated in the dental chair.

Computer Aided Design or Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM)

CAD/CAM dentistry is the future of dentistry. Utilising modern technology, a dentist can produce an accurate, safe, biocompatible dental crown, inlay, onlay, or bridge, in just one visit. Technological advances make the system easier to use, more accurate (so you get a better fit right away, which means great comfort and fewer adjustments later), and faster (saving you time in the chair). More dentists are turning to this new technology. Some are new to the system. Others (like Dental 359) have been using it for years.

In fact, Dr Golestani has been using the CEREC system for over 18 years and upgrades the equipment regularly to stay at the cutting edge of dental technology.
